hello peeps,

I am new here, and i hope to come in Loud and Proud next week when my new stuff arrives. I used to hang on CB years ago going by the handle "Midlander".....

Well I ordered a Cobra 148GTL and a 300watt foot warmer, running ground plane antenna. When i was running on AM back in the day on a Sears Model 60105 40CH, I could hear all sorts of people on DX....

Hope to see you on the air, this is Midlander 1467 closin the doors and puttin the feed bag on in British Columbia, Canada... OUT....

:)

Ya, i can't wait to see how my new amp will perform. I got a RM Italy brand I believe it is the KL 300 P Link here:
LINK REMOVED BY ADMIN

Specs

Output power 150 W Max
Output power SSB 300 W pep Max
Mode AM-FM-SSB-CW

I think it is a good one..... I hope it will be enough for skip... What do you think? I am also using the Cobra 148GTL with the amp.

Input welcome, thank you

Should work fine. I have a couple of the older Phillipino 148's that I absolutely love. The ears on the are second to none. You'll have some fun. Get your antenna in the air and you'll be smokin'.

231, roger that 231, Well my name is now Midlander 555, the 555 sounds better and i checked a couple rosters on the net and no one seems to have that tag so yippieeee....

I will have to take some pictures and put them up here so you can see what it looks like...

One other thing, is it good to have lots of metal around the base of the antenna? I know in VHF the more metal you have below the antenna the better it actually is.. i am assuming that the metal underneath the CB antenna will act as a radiating plate? Let me know..

Midlaner 555... Out....
