I checked the SWR This morning and it read somthing like this on channel
one well so that you can picture what I see the swr meter is set up something
like this 1_|_ ___2____3 and the swr for channel 40 looks somthing like
this 1___ _|___2____3 I hope these graphs explain what I see. loking at these would you say that I have to shorten my antenna any? the other Question has to do with the power line. I have it pluged into a empty fuse slot, would it matter what fuse slot it went in, would the raido draw enough power that is needs from any slot. I guess what I am saying does it matter if it is a 15amp or 25amp slot. the last question is there any mods for this cb like the roger beep, and if I took it to a place to tweek and tune, would it boost the trans watt to more then 4wts , or should I return it while I still have the 90 warrenty

today I got a 73 mile recive and transmision now I know what skip is [/img]

Yea, assuming you are calibrating your meter each time, the antenna is too long...so you'll want to shorten it. I wouldn't live with those SWR's myself...unless I had to.

As far as the radio goes, the Uniden is a decent radio. And most mods to it would be to probably turn the dead key down some, and pump up the modulation swing/wattage. It'd probably drive an amp much better that way. And yes there are all kinds of noise toys out there for all the radios. Take it back if you want, but for the money that is a decent little radio IMO which usually has decent modulation right out of the box.

well you guys are fast , with the little wil came a sheet that said that you should cut 1/4" from the top of the whip and recheck swr, and repeat untill swr is approximately the same on ch 1 and ch 40. I will do this and get back to you thanks 10-65

the swr looks something like this on ch one 1___|_ ____2 and a little higher on ch 40 it took me two weeks to get that right my wife says I spend too much time in my jeep now that I got the cb. she said it took me 45 min to go to the store for her this afternoon:) My next upgrade well be the P n T but that will have to wait till the wife gives my next allowance:) then after that I plan to drill and mount a new antenna. may be two, I get mixed opinions on that but on this site [Please login or register to view this link]
it says two are better then one any know different they say you shouldn't believe every you see on the net ?
