Just Needed a Place to Vent (UPDATE)
Just Needed a Place to Vent (UPDATE)
I haven't been on much since the holidays, went back to work and all heck broke loose, been working 16-18 hour days all week. Those that know me , know I just spend the last year remodeling our house then broke my leg, now that everything is getting back to normal, the wife just dropped a bomb shell on me. Our business just about doubled this past year and we just signed a new contract for another 8 years, (The oil and gas business is going thru the roof here). I will probably double my income this year over last. Now for the bombshell, at age 40 she's pregnant and wants a new house.(AGAIN) so she started looking st these $250,000 + Custom homes in the area, our kids are in their last year of high school and will be starting college next year. Just when I thought I was getting to the point in life where I could start slowing down some, I will be a new Dad and looking at another 30 year mortgage. Guest that's what I get for thinking. So I think I'll go out in the back yard and scream at the moon for awhile.
Thanks for letting me Vent here first,
Ray

Pregnant !
Just goes to show you that GOD has a sence of humor. I have a friend at church with 3 grown boys, he is 54 and his wife at 48 just came up pregnant.
I can feal for you. My business made a big change last year and I am looking for more to come this year. My wife has not said she wanted a larger house but she has the new car and has a list of what she wants acomplished this year already.
We have 3 boys mostly grown and 1 grand son and will never have any more natural children ourselves however I do have a 24 year old ( boy ) living with us and his 25 year old girlfriend might soon as well. My house looks like a young ppl hang out most of the time. How many more will we "adopt" ? who knows, but we will need a larger house if this keeps up for sure.
just remember that you have friends here ! With friends, you can survive anything.

The new child will be a blessing once the shock wears off. As for the house, I would remind her that you have tuition that will have to be paid and the ones at college will not be home as ,much as you think. I would try to convince her that it is not practical or the best thing for any of you to bring on more debt at this time. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, I know I will love the baby no matter what. He/She can help me with my walker when they graduate....lol......But the house is going to be a done deal, knowing my wife like I do, once she sets her mind to it, it all but over. Thats what I get for marrying a coonass.....
My wife has wanted a new house for a while but I just can't see jumping from our 60k house to 160k or more to move, anything less than that and we would be in an older house like ours. So we've spent the last couple years remodeling. Everything in both bathrooms is new except for the upstairs tub, new commodes, new sinks, new faucets, new floor, etc. All new stuff in the kitchen, some new carpet, repainted all the walls, put up three ceiling fans, etc. Its cheaper than a new house.
Well we signed the contract this week on a new house, got one cheaper then what I originally thought. Still a lot of money, but do able. Wife is tickled pink. God has been good to me all my life and I do have many blessing to thank him for. Just wanted to tell every one again thanks for the words of encouragement...
