P n T Questions

Post by SARG »

I just got a P n T and they put on the print out that it TX power is 8W and it's peak power is 35 "watts as measured on a Bird Watt-meter" RX-.5uV
does this sound right for a 2SC1969 Transistor. Also is there any way to up the watts any more without an AMP. also is there any way to measure the watt output with a multi meter. I would like to put a spark-tune modulator on is this hard to do?

sparktune will make it a loud radio easy to do, solder 4 wires and remove an item or 2 from the board, no way to get more out of that radio unless major mods are done

Depending on what specific procedure they followed, 35 is certainly reasonable to expect, and more may be possible. The RX-.5uV is just a quote of the receiver's sensitivity. It's referring to the signal level in microvolts from which the radio will be able to receive and pull decent audio. As for the fuse, you will need to run more than the stock 2 amps, and 5 is a good value. Don't use a higher value, though.
