Recieve alignment? Freq. counter is off...

#55603

Post by Conn »

My Galaxy DX959 in my truck isn't really acting funny, but the freq counter readout is always off by a little. I can't take it out with the clarifier... for instance....

when on channel 39, the display reads 27.396. i take the clarifier all the way left it still reads 27.396....all the way to the right it reads 27.397, never on 27.395 where it should be. i know of my magnum at home, if i adjust the freq a little, the recieve sounds a little strange, and i'm gussing it's not helping my TX either.

should i get this checked out?

what is involved with aligning the recieve on these radios? i had planned on buying an oscilloscope just for modulation analysis and tinkering around....

any help appreciated.

thanks.

You'll need a lot of equipment to align a radio right, Most shops don't do an alignment on a new radio, Al @ Sparky's does alignments on all New radios and used, call him he does alignment very reasonable and fast turn around,,link is in my signature
