just a thought...

buy from the UK..
for several reasons..

800mhz i think is your police ??

it's our cell phones, and all digital, so we can't hear them.
out police are all digital, so we can't hear them..
not a lot left to listen too..only amateurs and taxi's..
so 800mhz scanners are cheap..!!!

just a thing also.. your basic non 800mhz scanners that you raely use,
in the UK our scanners don't do say 25 to 60mhz, yours do..
in the UK 31mhz is house cordless/cell phones..

we can buy your old scanners, and you buy our no use to use scanners...

ah if it was that easy..!!!!
I want to die asleep like my grandad did,
Unlike his passengers, Screaming and shouting.!!

MOST of the cordless phones here have gone digital as well. We have phones that are either 900Mhz (The new "cheap" phone, which many are not digital and can be heard) 2.4Ghz, and 5.8Ghz. I'm sure there are higher banded phones out now, but haven't seen any.

I also do not see the reason to continue to block the cellular frequencies in scanners, since most cell phones are either digital, or in the 1Mhz spectrum. The police dept here in town just went to their new 800Mhz system last month and IT has channels that lay in the blocked of cell block. Now that is a smart thing for the govt to allow I guess!
