When grounding an alternator, do you ground from the case or from a wire ground to the frame?

unless your alternator is made of plastic it is already grounded to the engine.

most people ground the battery to the engine block and to the frame.

you can ground to the alternator but its not necessary.

Now that was a fast reply. When grounding engine, can it be from any bolt other than the obvious bolts w/ fluid behind them. As you can tell I am no master mechanic, but know enough to get by a little. Thanks for the help so far and for any in advance.

yep most people i know use a bolt from an accessory bracket and run a ground strap from that to the frame. but others may do it different.

If you ground the alt you may get some noise out. I say the more grounds the better.
