yaesu rotor claims 6 conductor, only needs 4. grrrrr
got around to wiring the cable to the new yaesu G-800sa. the manufacturers manual and the site i bought it from specify 6 conductor cable. but if you look in the back at the receptacle that goes into the rotor control box, there are only 4 pins ! so this means i spent money needlessly on the 6 conductor when i could have gotten 4 conductor at home depot cheaper? ugh. the 6 conductor is heavier than my lmr 400 coax. any one with a yeasu care to look at the jack on the unit? maybe some nned 6 conductor, but mine doesnt...

Old post,
Your correct. Even though the user manual say's 6 conductor wire is needed, You only need 4 conductor cable to make this G800SA rotor to work.
Just wait until you need to replace the DME38B-113 DC Motor. 78 Euro plus shipping.

Bad instructions on Yeasu’s part, probably why that rotor was in short manufacturing back then.
