Any ideas on where this beautiful piece of equipment may now be repaired?
Barkette doesn't want the job anymore, say they are too busy for refurbish jobs.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hey,
I have no clue nowadays, most of the good restorers I knew have passed. Do some searching on like Facebook, ham sites, etc. , there has to be a group into those radios.

Picked up some new projects.
Cobra 29 NW circa 2005 from a trucking co. garage sale.
Cobra 29 LX LE Chrome from a trucking co. garage sale.
Uniden 76XL circa 1992 from E-bay. I think she's a virgin
Midland 13-882b from E-bay. I wanted an 13-882c, did not pay close enough attention to the post.
I finally two new base antenna's up 1. 102 inch whip vertical dipole at 17 feet 2. smaller vertical dipole at 12 feet just to monitor local and hear my own transmission with headphones, it only had an old Radio Shacl 60 inch half breed base load antenna as the radiator.

I gather that forum rules disallow mentioning of business names who are not site sponsors, so I've PM'ed you the details of a guy who still does them. He is pretty popular, so you may have to sit in a wait queue.Blue Ox2 wrote: Apr 23 2020, 00:19 Any ideas on where this beautiful piece of equipment may now be repaired?

Yes forum rules do not allow a non sponsor to be posted or linked on the forum but to help out a fellow member there is no rules that you can't PM or email (better) them this info.JimboBowie wrote: Jul 23 2020, 04:52I gather that forum rules disallow mentioning of business names who are not site sponsors, so I've PM'ed you the details of a guy who still does them. Haven't been on here much lately. Sold my 2510 and palomar tx100 and bought a Kenwood TS-830S with SP-230 speaker. Thinning the herd of cb stuff to expand my ham capabilities. Played on the radio quite a bit while on furlough, went back to work 3 weeks ago, 10hrs on 2nd shift. Not much time to play, but plan on getting my general class to use all this radio has to offer.

Not sure why they are upside down on my end, hope they come out right on your end.
This setup made contact with a park in Idaho when they tested it. D104 head still has the original element.

Re: What have you recently acquired for new radio gear ?
Found this Palomar 21 Engineering sample.
Its a prototype 40 channel that was never in production.
Should of never left the factory at Escondido Cal.
FCC data plate says 23 ch ...but selector is 40.
Only 40 channel Palomar 21 to exist !

Delivered today a BK 1655 variable AC power supply.
Pics show it sourcing less than a volt to over 170 volts AC .
Extremely usefull when working on AC powered radios or old tube equipment as you can watch current demand and providing isolation from the AC line.
Condition 9+ with recent calibration

About a month ago i picked up a Cherokee Knightrider 150 from a friend. Will use this for side band, and my DX959 is for AM hi-fi only now.
