I could talk forever but watch this video where I unboxed it.

I recently aquired a brand new in the box Hooker 100 wide band amplifier and a brand new 1977 Royce 619 base station. I've yet to play with either.

I recently acquired a 60' tower free, just had to take it down! Was a pretty big job for a lone 62yo. Finally got help on the 3rd day, got it home, and now trying to decide where I want to put it.

They shouldn't have made this thread sticky if they didn't want people commenting on it more than a decade later :-P

My new radio, President McKinley II FCC came from Amazon as nobody else had one, and I wanted AM / FM / SSB, all the other features are complete bonuses.

I bought a Firestik II, fender channel mount, spring and 18' coax, all from Amazon or at least from shops that sell on Amazon, except the mount, that was a shop that sold through Wally World. And unless I can get the SWR problems worked out, all of that is going back in favor of my ancient Realistic mag mount that actually works well...

So I'm settled on mobile for a good long time.
2 President McKinley II FCC, 1 from Amazon, the other from Walmart.
Coax, spring. and firestik for the van from Amazon. Fender channel mount for van and radio for pickup from Walmart.

The rest of the pickup install is pre existing. 102 with Hustler barrel spring, half a mirror mount, procomm giant stud, and RG8x coax was already there, just replacing the TRC-465...

That's a great radio. I listened to my friend's radio transmitting from his driveway 15 miles away on his President McKinley II and his Fire Stick on his left fender. It sounded great with good punchy audio. He was talking to a YL in the Czech Republic up on 10 meters.

so my latest radio is an old J.I.L. 860CB, from the mid 70's vintage.
40 channel in-dash AM/FM/8-track with "mpx" which was stereo FM.
the 14 pin mic cord came out from under the dash and the mic had a 40 channel selector/indicator on it and a gain slide-switch.
8-track had a whopping 6 watt audio output.
i think these were priced around $399 back then.
also with this were 2 mini hustler centerload mirror mounted ants.

I remember that. My Dad had something similar like that, maybe without the 8 track but a radio and a CB combined that came from the GM factory. Cool stuff.

I got my GMRS license last year so I bought a Radioddity DB25-G, I found a local repeater and plan to build a J-Pole or Slim Jim antenna to reach it/

I picked up a Signal Link sound card box, two different radio plug in modules for it and a DIN cable. Now I need to get this project working for Digital modes.

Today I got a pair of FM walkies. They do 12 watts with external mic / speakers. I got the larger battery and programming cable to customize the options. These were made by Cherjda if I spelled it right...
/////////////////
I also got an RM Italy KL503 HD on the way and it should be here this week. I wanted the HD option so I can overdrive it and key on my Juck.. I mean Duck !!

Hey Windwalker...Nice new gear. Is that walkie talkie programable for Ham, MURS, GMRS and FRS? I'm looking for a couple.

Yes it is !!
I have it on this band because the Coppers use 450 mhz ( scrambled )
This walkie has a scrambler in it as well.
