Hey Bill I think you asked me where in Dallas I am. I am actually in North Plano. Pick a channel and I can try to reach you. I might be able to make it to Denton on a quite night or morning.
----------
I was picking up Motormouth Maul like he was broadcasting on an fm radio station. And i believe 765 from Alabama. They both were on 11.
I got a call back from someone in California on 15, my first on my little truck radio.
Machine Man,
In the mornings or evenings on my way to and from work I am on 26 or 28. Lot less noise than 6 and 11.
I will shout for you.

As of 5-14-14 nope. It's died off big time in the past few weeks. Was getting California and west coast in general almost daily and with very strong signals for long periods at a time. In the past few weeks its been hit and miss at best. when I do get dx it's been coming out of fla. and it's just for short periods a day. one day last week I was able to hear Ohio, Michigan, Maryland, Mass, New York etc. it was actually one of my best days ever making contact. I talked pretty much at will to all those states mentioned. I haven't heard those states again since. I did get a little dx yesterday from California but it wasn't like it once was. I heard one station 361 Patrick and he was strong. Was able to talk to him for about 4 minutes. Was hoping the west coast skip was making a comeback. Maybe maybe not.

It has been real dead here lately in ND, haven't heard anything for a couple weeks. But last night on the way home I got a brief 1/2 hour window where I was able to make contacts to 2 different stations in Florida, and one in Colorado. There was one of the world wide radio guys coming in and out, I think he herd me but I'm not sure. It was fun to have some action again though even if it was small.

Was getting to skip towards the west coast about a month ago or a lil longer now now getting alot towards the east coast, Ten, S.N. Carolinas and crazy places. Far far east Texas here and my neighber being "One Eyed Jack" which talks alot i tend not to try to interefere. Usually on what i call low side of 36 or 10. Misquitoe's got quite bad so i dont hang out side on the radio to listen much anymore, and trying to fix a in house system up, still in progress, but yea listen when i can. They call me the Fireman in my area

I was able to talk a little skip to Northern Ireland mid-day yesterday for about 30 minutes. What surprised me was how strong and steady the signal was before finally fading out.

from Tennessee I've been talking to the UK everyday for the past couple of weeks in the mornings between 8-11 AM on 27.385 lower sideband and 27.275 lower sideband then it kind of dies off a bit then California takes over pretty heavy. went through a dead spell for a while where I wasn't getting any overseas DX at all but it's back in full swing now. i recorded big blue talking to Paris France about 2 weeks ago.

Hey...
Depends on where you live.
Early AM hours if you live on the East Coast.
Keep an eye on this chart and follow accordingly.

Yes, Silvereagle1 was able to record a QSO I had with Kilo Pappa 114 on the East coast of France - about 9:30 am mountain time, 10/23/14. We were free banding at the time and the conversation lasted about 2 minutes. I routinely talk skip to the East Coast but this was the first time I hopped over the pond. My beam happened to pointed just right and mother nature was cooperating for sure.

I haven't been on yet this weekend, been working late all week but last weekend was a crazy weekend for DX. Worked 34 divisions on Sunday alone. Started real early on Sunday morning with Western Asia and as the morning progressed into afternoon went all the way across Europe and parts of Africa. My last contact that way came from Iceland. Then it progressed to the usual South America stations and finally at the Greyline was able to make contacts with New Zealand and Australia. Best day of DX in a long time. Of course there was an X class event last weekend and that may have really helped the DX. Too cold in the garage today so I haven't made it out there yet this weekend to see what's going on. Gonna do my winter set-up tomorrow and bring the radio into the house.

I have been back talking on the CB for the last 4 years and skip has been wonderful. Yes, when the Sun is out, people come out, mother nature is happy and skip is yummy.
If the weather is gloomy, skip is gloomy.
