Hi H&Y Electronics who have a link on this forum supply Sirio 3 element & 4 element Yagi beams high quaility build. Cheap cheap prices.
These beams are tryed and tested, excellent results and durable to the weather. In my opinion equal if not better to the Maco,
considering the difference in cost. SIRIO SY- 4 ELEMENT YAGI BEAM around $185.00 :profileleft: :blackeye:

H & Y Electronics is another name for (the metal a penny is made of) Electronics. They handle both Sirio and Maco products.

Zinc? Oh, I get it... no, they're not really C0PPER anymore, too valuable for USA coinage since it's becoming worthless just like Blowbama wants it.
Walkie / Talkies in 1967, Heathkit 'Lunchbox' in 1971, Lafayette Dynacom 23B in 1972, Johnson Messenger 223 in 1973, Lafayette SSB-25A in 1974, Collins 32V-3 & Johnson Viking Ranger in 1975, then Midlands, Brownings, SBEs, Yaesus, Ten Tecs, Icoms, Kenwoods, etc, etc.

Of all the radios, (well over 100) that I've owned, I still love the Yaesu
FT-107M best, followed closely by iCOM's IC-761 / IC-751A, not forgetting the Kenwood TS-940SAT.

I wonder why no one is making a copy of the old superscanner antenna. That antenna really talks well and doesn't take up much space. Shoot they even have a version of that antenna on ships these days for that fancy AEGIS radar system. Guess you could say that the superscanner was the first popular phased array antenna.

Was the Super Scanner the antenna that had 3 verticals and used 2 at a time for directionality?

I don't doubt it. Indeed for what it was did a pretty decent job. Although I don't think sales were ever through the roof. For the cost of them a guy could do a quad and have not only have dual polarity, but more forward gain and F/B & F/S performance. I also don't think it would be that hard to reproduce. The switch box would probably be the only bugger and IIRC you can find the schematic on the internet.

Hello; I have a super scanner and the relay box on the antenna gave up so i disconected it and ran 3 equal length coaxes from the elements down to a 3 position coax switch, don't know what the theory says but it works just fine on RX and TX and swr nice and low without having to fool it with a matcher, been this way for 2* years sometimes running 1000 watts PEP Regards warlock35po

The superscanner used ONE leg at a time for directionality, and TWO legs as a reflector, or was switchable to run all 3 legs at once like an omni-directional
