Re: DX numbers?
I used to have SSB numbers issued by the old S-9 magazine. They even sent me a certificate to hang on the wall but I can't seem to find since I have been away from CB for sooo long!

Re: DX numbers?
Back when there were license's,you gave your number for local traffic. Since DX was illegal needed to make up a number so Uncle Charlie couldn't come and get you.
Hence 57 in the high country.

Hey another 'old-cb'er mine was KGN-3670.mcsdriver1 wrote:Back in the early 70"s they required comm. license even for CB ,it was never really enforced, but any way your no. was on it I can still remember mine KRI 9886 no Idea what the letters mean.
In the later 70's I went by UNIT 26 BASE (I was 26 at the time).
I was and still a a gearhead and build my own motors so in appreciation of my newest motor I go by 406 CENTRAL ARIZONA (I live in Mesa, AZ).
Other than occasional skip the only thing I've heard locally was some DJ wanna-be playing country music on channel 32 a few nights ago.
