Night Ranger, I'm not sure about aligning one, are you certain that it off freq.? I believe that a proper alignment requires a signal generator which most of us don't have. But if it's not bad off some radios can be "poor man aligned" but the procedure varys from radio to radio. Nightcrawler or The CB Doctor , both members here, could be able to help you more.

k ....... i took my 99v and turned it to b band and keyed it up and the 457 did recieve signal .......... it started on 27.565 and went to 27.805 on 40 but some of the channels repeated them self ......... i hope all that is wrong with it is its off fequency cause every thing else works on it as far as i know by turning the knobs and pushing the nb and things ......

D band should be 11 meter band on your 99v and that 457 is only gonna recieve from 26.965 to 27.405. Anything higher or lower than those and the 457 shouldn't be able to hear it.

Mine can hear it and talk on it. Try messing around with the PA, ANL, and NB switches to see if it hears differently. Mike, if you want those channels I have the info for it.

I have both on mine. Have you tried playing with all the switches? Most times when guys add channels to a cb they don't take out the regular channels. Mine switches between uppers and regular channels with the NB switch.

Try opening it up and see if any of the traces are cut and jumpered on the 858 chip. Could be someone converted it and eliminated the switch so it wouldn't work on 11m. If you want I can send you the mods for the extra channels to give you a place to start looking. Though I would say that if there are wires jumping traces to the chip it would be easy enough to remove them and repair with solder bridges.

Good Luck

One of the sweetest looking bases ever made , it has the 858 chip which is a big plus . I'll be looking for one myself as soon as I'm back in the states .

I always wanted to get that rig but settled on the Uniden Washington. I maybe looking for one too for my collection. I wouldn't mind getting one stock, either.
