static was really low last night and again this morning allthou it is picking up now. hearing sooo many operators, cant even write down the numbers fast enough much less get a word in
That was me telling Alberta Canada I was south of nome.
Had skip this evening, aurora skip with 148 South Central Alaska. Heard lots of other stations. Aurora skip was more active in my truck. My dually antennas works like a charm. Also heard Modsquad on channel 11 from my mobile. Need a bigger box in the mobile.

Last week in the big apple trees, forgot which day, but skip was rolling the entire day... I turned radio back on at 10pm and it was still rolling up and down the entire band.. It was great to hear..
Yeah, it's been skip crazy lately! I've had signals hitting me from California to Texas so strong and clear they sounded like they came from across the street. I never hear Alaska though and don't pick up much on 17. A few contacts in Hawaii come in good too. 38 LSB is wall to wall contacts and you can't get a word in edgewise, and then there are those idiots who broadcast everything from TV audio to born again Christian evangelists to Anti-Trump nuts and never let up. Wish I could find those jerks and cut their coax. Usually starts up here in Utah about 4 to 5 PM and goes for hours.
Hey KDDL, God Daggen du. Hvordan stor det til? Norway's my favorite place on earth! You don't know how lucky you are. I'd give my left foot to move back to Norge. And Kirkenes? Now that's some serious North! Do you talk into Russia much? Do they even use the 11 meter bands there the way we do? Heck I don't even know what frequencies you use in Norway. I noticed you mentioned .555 or something. How does that pair up with CB frequencies in the states? Whatever frequency you hang out on, let me know and I’ll be listening for you when the skip is rollin’. I’d love to practice my ‘Norsk’ on someone who can understand it! Well, who knows if you’ll be able to understand mine after so many years away but I’d love to give it a try … ti fire, gode Kompis? O.K. we don’t say that here anymore and I had to look up “buddy” just to do it, but It’d be great to hear from you over the airwaves.
Whatever was causing the skip for the past week and a 1/2 seems to be gone now. It was a blast while it lasted. Haven't heard anything today or this evening. Until next time.........
Yeah, I've been busy all day so haven't tried much but this morning about 9:00 I was fiddling around, got nothing at all on 38 LSB so was scanning and got to channel 6 and got hit with a strong signal I couldn't filter, sounded worse on Am and I zeroed in on it on USB. Just some guy ramblin' but with a strong and clear signal. He went on for about 20 seconds then faded to nothing. After that, nothing anywhere. Ran to the cemeteries for several hours and got home to find only static for the last half hour. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
roger dat Road Dogg, bleedin over on all channels, skip is thick and the QRM is carrying about 7#'s, just when i thought it was settling down, it went HAYWIRE. now i can appreciate the squelch.
Skip again, AGAIN, in the big apple trees... Channel 6, the superbowl, its rollin.... 12 gauge on the sand pile rubbing these 2 pieces of glass, is all I hear in my radio, he has the maul down.... But there was one guy , forgot his name, but he took him right out when he keyed.. He had the bigger maul for sure.. LOL....
