Hey Rabbit Ears, I see your using a COAX choke. Do you know much about them? For instance, will they be effective if the antenna already has a 1:1 Balun on it?

I just got a Stryker 440hp. I always liked these radios but finally just got one. Its dated November 2006 inside. Its hitting 55 watts peak which is way more than I expected. But it adjusts down right where I want it to power my Xforce 200hd. So far it's working out good.

I bet you hear that most from people that only own 100 watt amps.
I recently bid on and won a Dentron MT-2000A Antenna Tuner. Got it very cheap and when I opened it up it looked like brand new inside, clean and smelled like an old trunk that hadn't been opened in a century. One of my best purchases so far. Don't know how I got along without it before.
Well skipper, I'm glad I bought the 503 I'll leave it at that

I've added a ton of new gear to my fleet lately.
Picked up a Hy-gain CLR2 for $40 in great condition.
I also hit up my local thrift stores and bought a Kenwood TR-7950 for $25, an NCG Company 15m transciever for $25, a Boman CB-920 for $4, and a General Electric 3-5813B for $4. All of them work great and are in almost perfect condition.

I just recently bought a new Connex 3300HP and a 1x4 Fatboy. I got rid of all my stuff about ten yrs. ago and I'm in the process of trying to put a station back together! I'm really interested in this new hi-fi thats going on! I also just acquired 120' of tower that I have to get down, moved, and put back up. So I've got alot of projects in the making, now I just got to find the time!

I've owned 2 in the past but sold them both years ago, have been waiting to have one available at a good price, that time has come:
This 2000GTL is a Philippines made model.
Extra channels are accessed through the existing nb,anl and pa switches, no holes have been drilled into this radio.
Clarifier has been modded to a single knob "no longer fine/course" and tracks both rx and tx. The mic gain knob is now a dual knob and controls mic gain and added variable power.
Voltage regulator has been upgraded, audio chip has been upgraded, 2SC2999 rx upgrade done, am & ssb detection diodes upgraded, meter bulbs changed to led's and a full alignment done.
This radio talks as good as it looks and I am happy to have again a 2000GTL in the shack, this one should give years of enjoyment.

Nice. Seems like you're missing a pic of what will be between the 2000 and the antenna.

Cool. I'm glad there's another base going up locally. It can get quiet around here when skip isn't rolling.

Sly, that chopped Night Eagle looks slick. I may do that to one of my cheap Tugs. U gave me a idea.
JJD, that is gonna be a talker. Should have told me u wanted a tower. I would have given you 40 feet for free. Anyone who wants it can come to La and pick it up.

That's the way my luck always runs..."When ya need something, you can't find it anywhere, but once you go buy the item, good deals seem to start falling out of the sky"
Still, by the time I drove my box van all the way to LA and back...with what I would spend in gas, I could buy at least two towers like I have!....Thing only gets around 5 or 6 MPG...
