Yeah...Had a picture of that critter somewhere around here, but haven't found what I did with it yet!

Wait...found it...

That looks vaguely familiar. It's almost like I had two of them right here in the house.

Hey, whatta you know? I DO have two of them, one with variable drive, one without. One that works great, one that needs new tubes. :puke_r:

I wish the one I have had variable power...it over-drives on SSB.

Nice looking 2000...I used to want one in great shape but they're hard to find and when you do find them, they want, IMO, WAY too much money. Over the years, though, I've found I don't like all the brushed aluminum. Since all my current radios have flat, vertical faces I'd like to find a really nice Uniden Madison - one with the red LED digital clock. With the mostly black finish and vertical face, it'll look better in my set up and it's essentially the same radio as the 2000 and I can add a frequency display. I just acquired a really nice Uniden Washington, which is pretty much the same as the Cobra 142. Should be getting it sometime next week. I'll post a picture of my complete station when it gets here.

That's going to be my next Base...

Just bought another 10' section and rotor plate for my tower...Also bought a HYGAIN CDE 45 rotor and controller...Tomorrow I'm planning on buying a Lightning L4+ quad to go up on top!

The Enforcer .64 ground plane works great locally...Been talking up to 90 miles away local with it...Just decided on doing a beam for the tower...once it gets here, the Enforcer will be going up on the roof/or chimney mounted.

sweet Mike your gonna really love working stations on that, nothing sounds as good, throw an unamplified d104 on that and it will sound fantastic.

Hi all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! This is my first post but what has gotten me back into the radio scene is my most recent trade. I had done some PC work long story short when I was finally compinsated for my work, I was given a large tote full of wrapped and sealed "radio stuff". Included in the $150 (labor only) payment was an 8719 Washington a TRC-458(both NEVER OPENED) a pyramid 35a psu a rad shack swr/2000w pwr meter a TS Black Widow dx250 a kicker 500 delux a silver streak $150 and a few various coax ends and connectors. The guy said, at the end..."I don't know nothing about it, it came with the house...score.

Picked up this little two tuber the other day. No manufacturer name and I didn't even bother to see what the tubes where. But it works great, has a fan added, cool little modulation lamp, and does about 200.

Picked up a UHF Motorola Maxtrac with a desk mic from Sporty Mike at a local hamfest the other day. While I was there I also picked up a VHF Low-band Maxtrac and a VHF Maxtrac. Ordered a programming cable and now I have all of them set up.

The UHF one will do the GMRS frequencies, the low-band one will do the 29.6mhz 10m FM simplex frequency, and I have the regular VHF one set up for local 2m frequencies. All of them are in great shape and work fine.

Total cost: about $45.
