BOUGHT ME A D104 SHORTY MIC OFF OF EBAY. YALL EVER SEEN ANY OF THOSE.?? THEY CUT DOWN THE STEM AND TAKE OUT THE CHICKEN CHOKER. IVE SEEN THEM BEFORE BUT COULDNT RESIST THE D104 NIGHT EAGLE. IT WAS EVEN WIRED FOR A RCI 6 PIN.

Those "shorty" D104s come in handy - especially if you've been doing a little "sipping" and find it hard to keep your head up to talk into the mic... :wink: :lol:

Yeah, I made a shorty out of a D104 a few years back. I sand blasted the base & neck then painted them flat black w/clear coat so it was black/chrome. I put momentary push buttons in the base for channel up/down (I was running a 2970 as a base at the time) and had two more momentary push buttons in the neck for noise toys I installed in the base. Did a lot of "head nodding" in front of that mic...lol

I saw that one on there with what looked like speckle paint.It was pretty tough looking.Is that the one you bought?

I really liked it. Basically the same as the 2990 except in mobile form and the 2950 w/ built in amp. Great radios!

i had one, it matched my regular D104 just shorter and no side grip bar.
