Anyone know of a good WAV to MP3 file converter that is FREE? So far everything I have found is a "trial" version with features disabled or it only converts a portion of the file. Thanks...

Audacity... Use with LAME.dll and it'll do mp3 conversion for free ;-)

If you keep the mp3s at the same bit-rate I doubt many people could hear the difference.

Audacity is my vote as well.

Puh-lease.

Audiograbber works good for ripping music from CDs to MP3, but it's not free, unless you do a google for "audiograbber crack"

I like Alto MP3.
The trial version is limited (as far as ripping cd's)
but you can make all the mp3 from wav you want.
It has all kinds of options besides bitrate including VBR.
Quality settings allow you to make small files
out of long wav's which is ideal for something like a watergate.

Bingo. The purpose of finding a free but useful program was so I could convert .wav files into .mp3 to reduce the size and ease in the upload/playback of some watergates I had. Why spend money on a program simply to convert voice files when a free program will do the job?
