work is tickin me off

at my job I work most weeks 7 days a week. I never ask for time off, I work so everyone can have off. I decided i wanted 5 days off in October, so I could go out of town to see some friends and family. Well my leave was denied they have the balls to tell me that someone asked for annual leave before I asked for leave. YET I asked for COMP leave which is accrued from working overtime and just taking it as leave not pay right then. And that over rules annual leave, according to SOP's but since the person who wants the leave is been here 25+years I am getting screwed. this really **Censored** me off I bust my **Censored** all week, every week, never wanting off and when I do decide I need a week I get told no???? WTF is wrong with this picture. all these **Censored** that never work extra, never work events, never do **Censored** but regular schedule get to do as they please and then those of us who actually bust our humps to do this **Censored** get the raw end of the deal. am I **Censored** you are dammn right I am.

and to top things off I had plans to go to TN and meet Farmboy, Linx, and Bushhog next weekend and I was informed yesterday that I will be working. I said I have already made plans which was responded with, you will have to reschedule. I guess its just meant for me to work 7 days a week and do nothin all the time.

All the companies around here do everything in their power to eliminate overtime. I'm sure most people would trade better pay for an boss who treats you well. I hope you find the ideal job!
I like overtime but I rarely work it.....only during emergency situations. The people here are extensively cross trained so if someone is sick or on vacation anyone can step in and do the job.
