You can go a step further than this by putting a switch in series with one of the cap legs, and label this switch "AM/SSB".
Ignorance can be fixed. Stupid will present a special challenge!
What size capacitor would you need inline with the relay in order to do this? I've got an amp without SSB delay, and am curious if the switched capacitor install is something I could do myself or something I would need to send in and have done.
