Anyone know the insides of a Midland 77-285?

#210694

Post by Spydrman »

I've been carrying this radio around for quite some time now. It powers up, but the transistors located @ Q32 and Q34 are smoked so bad I can't read what the numbers are. I've been searching to find the numbers but havent had any luck. I've even contacted Midland about this and they sent me the service manual for the 77-285A, unfortunatly the 285A manual doesn't use spots located @ Q32 and Q34 (according to the diagram in the book).

Anyone know what is supposed to be in spots q32 and q34?

Is the 77-285A service manual something you could forward to me?

Q34 is marked A614/Y-422, I'll have to get back to you on Q32. I looked inside one of these recently without receive. Both Q34 and IC 1 appeared overstressed by heat...uh that area of the board was toasted. I'm looking for info on IC1 along the frame, I think it's a KIA7217P?

hello timlacroixtulsa,
Those posts were over 9 yrs old, I haven't seen any of the original posters in yrs. You might try starting a new topic on the radio.
