battery ground
battery ground
this subject has been brought up before and i can't find the post on it . but anyway what GA wire was it to run a ground from the battery to the frame . there is a wire from the battery to the bolt on the inner fender . i did how ever run the ground wire from my mobile to a bare metal spot inside the cab and still have a bit of engine noise . wondering what's going on
thickest you can find lol... ususly what we do is hit the hobby shop and get the grounding straps, for like a bucka foot and thats the stuff the big guys use, what your doing is makeing shure your hole vehical has full continuity for the cround so your vehical rejects 99% of the signal, yeah an unproperly grounded car the car will acutlly absorb some signal. so what you doing is makeing shure your car rejects all of it, it will boost your recive and since your car is rejecting the signal all of it goes out and you get out farther. when you do get the stuff when your hooking it up any little way you see that you might think would be a good place to run straps, do it. you cant have enough ground

IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME THAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AN AMP? IF SO, DO YOU HAVE YOUR RADIO WIRED TO THE BATTERY OR THE CIG.LIGHTER? I RAN MY AMPS( "4 GAUGE") WIRE GROUND TO THE BATTERY WAS GETTING WAY TOO MUCH ENGINE NOISE WHEN RUNNING THE GROUND TO THE BATTERY, AND WAS GETTING A LOT OF ENGINE NOISE, NOW I HAVE IT RUNNING TO THE SEAT POST. I DO HAVE THE RADIO PLUGGED INTO THE CIG LIGHTER BUT BOUGHT A FILTER AND WA-LA NO NOISE!!!
STICKMAN
Ground
I've rewired my radio ran a direct (pos) to the battery and found a spot near the radio for a ground . i have that wire bolted to the inside cab firewall . i did clean the metal to be bare and it's helped but still pick up engine noise but not as bad . i don't even use the radio much it's there just in case for my trip's .
