Took my quad cab in for some re-call work a couple days ago, supposed to take an hour....to make a long story short, they fried the computer cluster and had to order one in from somewhere. Two days in the shop, and they gave me a new mega cab 4x4 to drive. Man is that a loooooong truck. Not all that interested in having one!!

Yup, it had the hemi. Drank lots of gas (about 9 mpg), and went ok. But I'll keep my cummins, it's getting 22-23 mpg. I can't remember what the conversion from litres to US gallons is, but I think I'm paying about $3.50 a gal here. :'(

Was the mega cab you borrowed the 1500 or the 2500?

Does that qualify as a Land Yacht?

If so, does it require a Captains License?

Yea, I'll keep my diesels, too. I have to take both of the ones I own in for the recall work too. Got my notices just last week. But both mine are QC's with long box. The new mega cabs are only short boxes...so the overall length is the same (or pretty close) to what I've been driving for years. You get used to it. In fact, the turning radius on my '03 & '04 is better than my '01 was. For those of us who need the 8' box, there isn't any other option than the standard cab or regular QC. :-?

Yup, that added room in the cab adds a lot to the wheel base. It's within an inch or two the same length as my buddies '88 super cab, long box ford 250. That's to darn long unless you need the 8 ft box.
You're right, they do have a good turning radius, that's what got me all excited about them back when the new style came out in I think '94.
