What are the SWR'S.....its great there the same on all the channels as long as they are low SWR's ....You should be looking for SWR of 1.5 or lower

Assuming your SWR is really high, I'd be looking at your ground point myself. Can you give us more info' about the total antenna system...not just the antenna and coax (i.e. mount, coax connection type at the mount, etc.)? Any pics? The (RF) grounding of the mount is typically the most common mistake made. Folks try and "not drill" holes and as the result often have insufficient RF grounds at the mount.

Just a couple thoughts.

It is grounded to the chasy i guess i got a swr if 1.5 is good but it is all equal i have the firestik mirror mounts for gm vechiles the grounds havea separate wire running it to the chassis but when i did that my swr went up a little before it was just below 1.5 but by doing that i cut out allot of noise.

1.5 swr is fine, as long as your not running allot of power. Which I assume your not, or you wouldn't be using a Firestic antenna! :-D

Just wondering what your using to measure your swr? If your relying on what the radio's meter is showing, those are not that accurate. I would invest in a cheep swr meter, and see what it say's. Just remember you have to set the calibration first, on each channel you test....

try using a file to take off 1/8" (or so ) and test if no change or negative change pull up a little wire from around the fiberglass and let it stick up above the end.
