I was having coffee with my mom and dad watching CNN like all ways. I dont think we said ten words to each other.

i was on my way to work driving by the sacramento air port wondering way a plane took off and turned around to landed again .and about the smae time that long beep came over the radio with the news of what was going on.

I was at work in a meeting ( I was the operations Supervisor for a EMS Squad in WV) , We all were in shock....We immediately starting calling our workers to see who wanted to go to NY , we sent 3 trucks up with about $10,000 worth of supplies and 10 employees....the owner went so I had to stay back and run the place ......I think I still have some horrific photo's from up there...Our squad got there on day 2 and stayed one week.

I was at the Dept of motor vehicles with my oldest son waiting for his final test for his learners permit to drive. My wife called me to let me know that an airplain hit the first tower. told the ppl around me and they didnt believe the information was correct.

I was at work sitting at my desk pounding out programming code as usual. A girl came into my office and said, "Oh my God! They're bombing New York!". Someone found a television and we spent most of the day watching the events unfold instead of working.

i was still in h.s. i slept on the coutch that night and woke up, i herd something about the frist plane thay didnt seem to "in shock" about it so i asumed it was some small personal aircraft like a sessna then i got to the ag dept where i hade to tech the welding class that day becouse the techer was out for a few days, i walked in and seen the ag science teacher watching the tv, i said "so whats all this fuss i hear abou...."@ that moment i looked up and seen the secound plane go into the other tower and i just stood there in amazement thinking this was all a dream, i was in the middle of showing a kid how to properly use a plazma tourch when i herd "HOLLY FU*KING GOD THE TOWER FELL" from a fellow student the rest of the day i stayed glued to the tv.. the only thing weird was just a few days before that i was aking my g/f at the time over the phone "hay whats on the 11th? theres something big but i just dont remeber what it was?do you know? its bugging me now whats supost to happen on the 11th?"

I left work early that day sick.On the way home i heard about the first plane hitting the tower.At that time the media was still confused about what was happening.I got home and turned the TV on just in time to see the second plane hit.That's when they realized it was no accident.I watched the news more for the next month than i had in my whole life up till that time.

i was out in pearl harbor,hawaii. not knowing what was going on. my normal 5 min drive to work took me 4 hours. i didn't find out what was going on untill i got to my ship. the gate guard woulnd't tell us what was going on he just said to directly to your ship. and that is when i found out. my ship got under way 3 weeks later. and we were the first ship to shoot missles into afganistan. it was crazy. underway fgor 157 days with out seeing land. gotta love the navy. see the world and help defend the country we all love

All that week, my roommate and I were watching the different news stories about fires and stuff. The morning of the 11th, my roomate woke me up out of a dead sleep and told me that the 1st tower was on fire and it was burning. I woke up and couldn't believe it. Then, when the second plane hit, I looked at my roomate and said "we are under attack...what the h*ll is happening here?" I got up and went to the nightclub I owned at the time, and my manager had all the tv's up and the news on already. All the customers watched everything 7unfold. We never did turn the jukebox on that day or night. Everyone just watched the news. And, for once, ALL of our customers were happy with that.

I wa sworking on a Navy Base in Dahlgren,VA where I worked with experimental munitions being developed for use in Naval guns. They sent us all home early that day for fear the the base might be attacked because of all the different types of explosives stored there.

after all three planes had crashed, was sent into a fall-out shelter for 6 long hours, untill all clear was sounded...wasnt aware till hours later, what had happened....Was at a aircraft factory in Gainsville TX...Filling vending machines. Hell. I thought maybe there was a tornado in the area or something...Plant closed for the rest of the week, thinking they may be a target...

Hell. Only thing they make there is seats for some of the fighter jets, and hellocopters...And I think M1 tanks or something...may be wrong about the tank number, but remember it was a tank.

I was at work, somebody had a tv and we watched that tragedy unfold. I couldn't believe my eyes!! Hard time wrapping your head around a real life catrastophie like that with all the movies and tv special effects they have.
I know that I'll NEVER forget that horrible time.

Having my first cup of coffee at 5am as always. The wife and I watched the whole thing on TV that morning live. When the media broke into the local news and one tower had just been hit, I said to the wife "bet a plane was purposely flown into it." Moments later the second plane hit. Needless to say, nobody worked that day. In fact, hardly anyone worked all week!

It is a day I will never forget!

You may have seen it in another thread, but I was in Newark NJ at the time, working on a power plant for Merck Pharmaceuticals. We went to break at 0900. I was trying to make a cell phone call to home, but couldn't get thru. It was odd, had never had any trouble before that. I looked around & took notice that EVERYONE had their cell to their head. (You all ways see a buncha people on cell phones, but I mean EVERYBODY!!! After a coupla minutes the word got around that a plane had hit one of the towers. By the time we got back inside the plant & back on top of the powerhouse, the second plane had already hit, & we could see the towers burning from where we were! I don't have to tell you about the emotions that run through a person at times of crisis. Its very hard to deal with even one extreme emotion, much less all of them at once. Sadness, anger, defiance, denial, hatred, trying to muster room for forgiveness should there be justification for it, but knowing there would NEVER be justification for THIS!!!
Not knowing exactly what to do, many of us asked to take off, to go & see if we could help in any way with rescue or relief. Of course we were told that it was chaotic enough there, & the plant was locked down anyway. So I just went back into the building & tried to get it off my mind by trying to get something welded. Fat chance! So I just sat there. Soon, an idiot came in off of the roof from where everyone was watching, this **Censored** was giggling, GIGGLING, and joked that "Well they aint the TWIN towers no more!!! One done falled down!" I took my welding lead & was about to swing it when he realized that was the wrong thing to say at that point & hastily left my presence! I went back to the roof & watched as the second one fell, & all i could do was pray.
Like everywhere else. we were shut down & sent out at noon. The route to my trailer, HWY 1 & 9, I 80, everywhere was all but desolate. I found myself hoping, WISHING that I would see a raghead, I was gonna do some damage of my own! But they were not to be found. They knew. Even the manager at the trailer park where I was at had packed his family into the car & left in a hurry, a lot of construction worker were staying there, & I guess he was just uncomfortable with the idea of what may come of him! I stayed another week. Went to NYC a coupla times to see if any help needed, was able to haul a few Suburban loads of bottled water to ground zero perimeter, then decided to go home to hug my family. I didn't bother to pay the last weeks rent on the trailer, & the owner didn't bother to come out of hiding to collect it.
Its starting to come around that new construction of the World Trade center is taking place. I hope to have a part in that, at least be able to go on the 10 year anniversary & see it for myself that WE CANNOT BE TAKEN DOWN!
