Looking for a good base meter

Hey guys I am looking for a good base meter for my shack....I would like something backlit.....and I want it to look like it deserves to be in the shack with my gear....I got the little rat shack meter everyone talks about but it is a rat shack so how good could it be I think I am going to pick up a Workman HP201S for the mobile..so I just need a good base meter is a Dosy TC 3001 P any good?

Dosy makes good meters. Many of them are on backorder since the guy that builds them is slower then a sloth at times. My favorite Dosy is the 4002psw.

I like the Astatic 600 like Thumper said, and More my favorite is the Astatic 700 (but most people go with the the 600)

Yes astatic 600 are, along with Dosy 4002psw meter

Dosy are all right for loose readings.
Astatic 600 is decent.
But still both of these are favorites of most cb shops, because of such loose watt readings. (loose = Higher reading)

I would recomend spending just a few extra $$ and get a Diamond SX100 for aroun $140

Or if you dont want to spend that kinda money, dont laugh, get a radio shack meter for about $35

Both of these meters will give you a more accurate reading then Dosy or Astatic (Para Dynamics) meters.

I got a slightly used Dosy meter.... the first $40- takes it.... The mark on the top of it is velcro, I just didnt remove it before I took the pic....
