Well it has been a terrible day .....Went to work this morning and I had a memo that I needed to the main office @ 8am....Well I got there and the pres. of the company told me that they were going to have to lay me off , but he said not to worry they would have me back to work in a week or so . There was a bunch of guys getting laid off or transferred around....so I guess it is a good thing I have already got my SWP radios paid for ....I aint too worried I have a few dollars saved up and I can find another job if need be so , I guess I will be spending more time here Just kinda sucks that they laid me off cause I really need the Insurance....I have a little 2y/o boy and a pregnant wife so ,,,,,I am gonna have to find some ins.

They said they'd have you back at work in a week..is that really going to happen? Because your insurance will still be good. Hope thats the case! To let you know fed law is you can keep your insurance going for 18 mths. You have to pay for it, but if needed sure bets no having it.

Well I dont know if I will get called back or not, your right about the insurance but hell it will take all of my unemployment check to pay the premium. I hope I get back to work in a week but I guess we will see ....Hell I thought I had a future there but if that is the case I am going job hunting tomorrow lol

I talk to some of the other guys today ,,,,and it seems alot of people got most people got transferred to different mines and a dozen or so got laid off ....I figure if I go back underground I could go back next week but I am having a hard time thinking about working in a 42" tall hole lol I have done it before so I guess I will do it again , it just sucks being on your hands and knees all day

Plenty of work here in Virginia, if it might be something that intersts you let me know what you do and I'll keep my eyes open for ya, good luck, I have been in this position before so I know what you are going through.

Sorry to hear about the job. It does suck. The cobra policy on insurance will let you keep your covarage but at retail pricing and yes it is expensive. We have state funded insurance for kids here in GA that is great.

And when work is slow or almost non existant, I have done jobs that I would not have done had work been comming in. It sux but some work is better than no work.

Wish you luck. I would put your resume online and see what happens. It can never hurt to do so and who knows, something good may happen.

I am real tempted to go back OTR pulling flatbed again.....i just hate being away from home

I dont want too , but sometimes we all gotta do thing we dont want too ....But before I do I am gonna try to find something different

Guys I gotta say , I am having a good run of bad luck......Me and my wife was expecting our second child.....she has had a history of pregnancy problems with a tubal preg her first time , and then we had a successful preg with our son, Now this time it appears it is a tubal .......She is having all the symptoms so I guess we will be going to the doctor after while. We went to the doctor yesterday afternoon because the symptoms were starting then and she had to get a internal ultrasound done and the baby had a heart beat and everything appeared to be OK She is pretty tore up over this so I am gonna back out of here for a day or so to comfort her. Guys if you don't care say a prayer for her and my unborn child ......later you all

Just a little update, Doctor said there is a good chance that it is tubal and if her symptoms get any worse she should immediately go to the ER......So there is still a little bit of hope

Well guys another little update, We are still playing the waiting game.....she is still having some of the symptoms but the DR said not to worry till she has them a little more severe, It kinda sucks just sitting and waiting not knowing if she will carry it or not
