Battery Suggestion
Well I am extremely pleased with my davemade M200 except one thing however ....I was messin with my setup late last night , and I didnt have my truck running so guess what I had to do this morning ? Yeah thats right I had to charge my battery lmao .....chalk it up to lessons learned
But just on a side note what would be a good battery to put in my truck ? 05 F150 .......I was thinking about a Optima Batteries OPTIMA RED ,CCA: 720; OE Group Size: 59; OE CCA Rating: 540 .....advance has it for 130.00
Or is that going overboard? would I be able to get away with a cheaper battery ? That looks like the best one for my truck however

Optima is a great battery and I recommend it for offroading or boating but for radios you sould look at marine batterys. You are not lookin for CCA ( Cold Craning Amps ) you are lookin for the reserve, deep cycle. The CCA will help on a hot motor that needs that surge of power to turn over. The Deep cycle on a marine battery will dig down deep and keep you talking. In reality, both will start your vehicle with no problem.
I use the interstate commercial batts myself for the same reason.

Never heard of a deep cycle trailer battery. The only batterys I have on my trailers is an emergency bat to engauge the breaks if the trailer becomes unhitched. Those are way too small to power a car though much less a radio.
Marine batterys usualy have wing nut tops on each post for hook up to loops at the end of the cables. Any parts store will carry um. I like the interstate brand for most applications.

If you go with the deep cycle let me know how they work for you....
Charging System
I'm using a duralast battery and it does just fine for my stereo amp which is a 600 watt . My galaxy doesn't pull much till i get my amp then it'll pull down a bit . I'm thinking on getting a battery from work we use this 12 volt top post for our RV generator's . i think it's called a life line
"NUFF SAID right there"Ninety Three Eleven wrote:I run Optima Yellow Top Deep Cycles. They have not failed me yet.
the reason you choose a yellow top optima battery is because it has a longer reserve capacity so you can talk longer and not have to charge them as much a you would a normal car battery (example) when you have a boat you dont drive your boat every day to work do you LOL!! so there for some boats dont have charging systems on let say like the bass fishing boats w/outboard motors they only have small magnetos once there started and give enough spark to keep the motor going and have no room for an alternator so there for they need a battery thats gonna last them all day while fishing i.e. the trollin motor stereo and acc etc etc.... so thats where the term deep cycle battery came from for long lasting power and less down time on the water!!!! i could go on for hours about this kinda stuff, but right now my fingers hurt from typing so much LOL!!!!!
