that's a new one on me. I did know that some operators used 26.835 but 915 I haven't heard from. I guess with all the Super Heavy weights the Super Bowl gets a little crowded sometimes. LOL

26.915 is the official frequency for the Pirates of DX Club (unless it has changed).

I was on 26.915 this morning for a while. But skip was barely there. Did make contact with Charlie Brown, but that was about it... DX was better on channel 28 and 26...

I'm monitoring 26.915 right now and there's a lot of North/South Carolina talkers on.

bob. i am hearing the same. with some virginia in there as well. i am listening. grasshopper is killing me in north chicago. but i have made a few contact out there. i don't think i would make 26.915 the offical frq for the club though. there are a lot of other poeple out there on the frq. i would choose something else. on the same band but not that feq. just my 2 cents

I agree. Its a good idea to have a home channel on that band but everybody doesn't have a radio with the extra channels. We could have one on the C band and one on D band so everybody would be able to talk.

The good thing about C band is that there isn't as many people as on D.

Just a thought...

Lots of folks use 26.915 as a home channel. In fact, The 26.915 Family Group will be having their 24th or 25th annual gathering next weekend in Branson, MO. Back in the late 70's an operator called Blue Gene had some local operators gather up at his place in MO. Since then, it has gotten a little bigger each year. They've even had people from Canada and even Australia attend. It's always great to put a handshake and a face with someone you've talked to over the years.
Just a tid-bit I thought you guys might like to know.
Later,
Mojoe

Hi RA,
You know old DP is retired now. He's in the process of getting a base station set up at his home 20 in Springfield. Shortly after making that post yesterday, I had conditions on southern MO. It's real rare for that to happen here in south AR. DP had the channel for close to an hour. He's working a no altitude ground plane and his Galaxy. It seems to be working well for him.
I'll pass the five to him RA. If not on the air, I'll do it in person next weekend. I've heard both you and he makin' waves to each other in the past. Stay cool and I hope to catch you and everyone else on the air waves!
Later,
Mojoe :-D

Don't give-up! We've had conditions now for several days here, but there far from perfect conditions...mostly a lot of noise...Trying to pull someone out is not the easiest thing to do right now...I hear a lot of stations , that sound like their closer to the North Pole, than around here! Just as hard for me to make contacts, as everyone else here lately...

Made a few contacts on 26.915 and 26.885 off my test bench with a barefoot Uniden PC-78 Elite the other day. I was rather surprised too, being I was running on a Double Bazooka mounted to the ceiling of my living room INSIDE the house. Looks like freeband is where it's at!

This duck's getting the flock outta here! LOL!
