I've switched mount's ....re-grounded my tool box ...switched antenna's ..checked coax with an ohm's meter ...still have real high swr's ...i'm out of idea's and getting mad ....right now i'm using a radio shack swr meter and i know it work's .....but my steel whip is a bottom loaded antenna ....i've adjusted the whip by using the set screw and it's still high . so should i just start cutting 1/8" off till it drop's to a good flat 1.0 on all ch's

Get an accurate measurement on chan 1 then reset and remeasure on chan 40 and tell me what you got. Sometimes the difference is very small. I have used a post it to mark the meter face so I could see the difference. If it is smaller on 1 then cut.

I know you started this line on another thread and I dont remember the particulars. What antenna are you running. do you have an amp in line. etc.

Just a note, I had to cut over 1 1/2 feet off my pred 10K
