Been a little bit of everything in the Midwest as well. Heard Scotland on 38 LSB Friday morning. The Caribbean has been regular in the afternoons here and west coast in the mornings. It's been shifting as the day progresses. Been that way since Thursday here.

I heard that Scotland station on 38 LSB, thought I was hearing things for a minute. Glad to see that someone else heard him. Hearing all the locations that have been mentioned here in north Texas.

Yep...same here. Been some Southwest and East Coast DX coming in lately. It's been a nice change from the normal North/South short skip we've been getting. Good signals, too. And as mentioned, it should start getting better here soon.

Here in Newfoundland Labrador, Canada we have been getting a wide variety of skip

Eastern Central and Southern USA
Ireland, Scotland, England
Santiago, Chile
Mexico

There are other stations out there that I have not been able to identify.....

I hear people talking to 4040 but have never heard him yet out of California. I have never been able to shoot skip in California. In the USA I have hit the bulk of the states. The most popular being Flordia. I do get skip from time to time in Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba...... A scattered time in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.....

I talked to 4444 in california this morning around 11:50.. talked to him for a few minutes while conditions were good. He said he was about 40 miles from L.A. He said he was talking on a cheap $35.00 radio. He sounded good here in knoxville on lower 38

on 28.200mhz go to cw mode if not go to usb mode there is like 16 beacons here place on diferent parts of the world. they are activated (cw) the purpose of these beacons it to see witch part of the world is open for dx conditions. if you could hear the australian beacon wich is the wester south tip of australia then you know conditions are good towards that part of the world. better yet go to this link i hope link works [Please login or register to view this link]
download the free software that will give you the complete map
read it and learn this powerful program just cause you hear nobody don't mean the band is close. please remember 28.000mhz is a ham band do not transmit here. 28.000 is very close to 27mhz what you hear on 28mhz most likely you will hear on 27mhz
good dx and 73.

LOL, I've talked to 4444 many, many times. A great older operator that always uses the same on air lingo.
Don't let him fool ya he's using good equipment.

I give credit to my new radio for getting to talk to 4444. With my 980 I was talking skip alright from time to time with no complaints but since I got the 99v2 last week I have talked skip pretty much at will and with excellent reports. I am impressed with what this radio has done so far. I went to the store one day over the weekend and turned the radio on lower 38 and skip was rolling in strong. It only took a few seconds before I was talking to someone. it's been that way ever since. I enjoy skip a whole lot more now with the new radio. Love the 980 but I just didn't get the same results as with the 99v2.
