In the Suburban, with a Cobra 29 LXLE I use a RF Limited 2018...Gives the Cobra a little more punch to go with the 16 pill.
Work Van has a General Lee, w/ Ranger SRA-198 NC Mic...Van is extremely noisy so a NC Mic is a must!

Re: What's your mike and why?
I'm partial to a road king 56 because I like the tone they have but am using an astatic 636 now. The 56 worked great on several radios over the years but my astatic 636 has better clarity than the 56 on the radio I'm using now. I stick with the noise canceling mics because my mobile is a little noisier than most.

Re: What's your mike and why?
Got a Astatic 636 and a Ranger SRA-198 NC, I got the Astatic as a back up when my Road King started acting up, and The Ranger came free with my new radio, so far, i still like the astatic better than the other two, seems to have a little more punch then the other two

Re: What's your mike and why?
My choice is the D104m6b, cranked to only about 2 on the setting. They sound good for me, I like the feel of the switch, and they have a shallow size, so they fit nicely in tight areas, like between the seat and center console. The ower cord on them is really nice and long, much more stretch friendly than a typica stock mic. They're about $40 new. I have 2 of them, one I've had for 20 years and one that is maybe 3 years old, both work fine but I always travel with a backup. I keep thinking the old one will croak but it just won't die. The wires have been pulled out of it, by my kids when younger, but no harm done that couldn't be fixed in 5 min. They run on a 9v battery that lasts forever. If they ever quit making them I'll just buy one more and throw it in the closet but I doubt I'd ever get to needing it.
That said, a stock mic usually sounds fine if the modulation has been turned up on the radio so if you like its feel and appearance then roll with it.

In the mobile I run with the stock mic and on the base I run my old trusty D-104 with the T-UG8 stand and everyone always says how great my old 148gtl sounds which I run off my pyramid ps-21kx power supply.
Radio, still the most fun way to communicate!

I personaly use a Turner base mic. I use either the Super Sidekick or a Plus3. They give good audio without having to mess in the radio clipping modulation transistors etc.

Re: What's your mike and why?
RK 56 seems to work the best with my voice, my diesel pickup is plenty noisy and the RK 56 takes the noise out nicely, plus still has a good punchy, bass sound.

Re: What's your mike and why?
Astatic 636L ..... My voice range matches the microphones range of frequency Response well, works well to kill background noise, and is clear without sounding too harsh.... if i wanted to put more lows in my voice, I would go with the newer ranger 198...

Re: What's your mike and why?
On my base I either use a Silver Eagle D-104 (with the -20dB switch in the base) or a Turner +3B. The Silver Eagle makes me sound like David Ruffin,
the Turner makes me sound like Melvin Franklin

Hola..
For my base station I use a Turner +2, +3, or a Shure 444D.
On the mobile I use a stock Cobra mic.
On the HF rig, I use a Heil HM 10 Dual Element or my Heil Pro Set Elite headset which is great for chasing DX and contests.

I'm curious Bombero, are you using your Shure 444D on a CB type radio or HF rig? I have a 444D but it's on my FT-101ZD.
