I got the Predato how I have a new question
Ok I got a Predator 10k today, first what a big difference it makes, I didn't know what I was missing. I had it professionally installed and the swr's set. Not long after I left the shop I hit a low hanging phone line and bent the whip, so I pulled over and tilled it forward to gain more clearance. The question is how far forward can I go with it before it starts screw up the swr's.
first off. you must have hit that powerline going pretty fast to bend the whip. i have hit many of things even big branches and its not bent yet. i would just put a swr meter inline and make sure it hasn't messed with teh swr. i have seen people run them with teh whip bent all the way to a 90 degree angle and its a flatside antenna tne lol.

I would'nt have it tilted past 10 o'clock. about 11 o'clock would be best. Tilted too far, and you may start getting alot of reflection, and high swr...
One thing you can do, if you think the antenna is just too tall, is order a second, smaller coil to add to the antenna. This would lower your over-all height. John (a sponcer here) can get you one, or you can call Kale, and have him send ya one...Of corce your 10K will need to be re-tuned after adding a second coil...

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
