Silver Eagle to RCI-2950DX/2995DX via jumper Help
I have a Astatic Silver Eagle wired for an old Cobra 148 GTL as follows
1 White
2 Shield
3 Black
4 Blue
5 Red
I have made a jumper with 5 pin chassis mike socket wired in this same sequence on one end for the D-104 to plug into
On the other end I have a 6 pin mike plug for the RCI-2950DX/2995DX this end is wired to the plug as follows
1 Shield and Blue
2 White
3 Red
4 Black
5 N/C
6 N/C
All seems correct to me but D-104 is not keying the RCI's
Have tried from scratch twice no joy. Any help appreciated

Shouldn't they the blue/shield, red and white be the same on both radios?

In looking at the wiring charts for both radios your jumper should be hooked up right. I know you said you redid it twice but check your wiring again and make sure neither plug is wired wrong. The schematic shows #4 pin on the RCI's hooked up but the wiring info says its not, I would question that. Try to wire the mic directly to the RCI's . If it works ok than the mic is not the problem, it is in the jumper.

Yeah, nevermind, I was thinking of 4 pin Cobra until I looked at the 5 pin. It looks right to me.Hawkeye59 wrote:No... I have them listed as they are wired for use with the eagleOhio_359 wrote:Shouldn't they the blue/shield, red and white be the same on both radios?

# 4 on the ranger plug is recieve audio and it actually does not even require being wired to recieve audio.MDYoungblood wrote:In looking at the wiring charts for both radios your jumper should be hooked up right. Going to direct wire the 104 as soon as my nerves settle down from trying to get this to work.

Re: Silver Eagle to RCI-2950DX/2995DX via jumper Help
Well after all the hair pulling I pulled the shell back on the D-104 mike plug to verify wiring between it and the chassis socket on jumper and it matched up. HOWEVER I noted the blue wire was no longer connected to the plug. Now I know I have been using this 104 on the 148GTL within the past week and had no issues and even verified it worked on the 148 last night. Re soldered the blue and tried jumper again and presto we have key up. Thanks for the suggestions

Glad to hear you got it working. Let me know how well it works , I am interested in upgrading to a 2995DX and I have several TUG9 D104 mics.
