Internet Radio "Music"
While i enjoy 2 way communications I have also been running an Internet Radio Station since 2006, my station is ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and SoundExchange Licensed.
It's run by a few volunteers and myself and I would love to share the ip to our site with you but will not until I have the permission to do so from the CBRT site admin if allowed I will update this thread with info on how anyone can tune in for free.
I have listeners around the world and our format is Rock/Alternative from the 60's - Today.
thanks for the read.

Re: Internet Radio "Music"
ASCAP = American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers
BMI = Broadcast Music, Inc
SESAC = Society of European Stage Authors & Composers
SOUNDEXCHANGE is what it is.
they all are Royalty Collection services, anyone who broadcasts copyrighted music MUST be licensed and PAY them.

Re: Internet Radio "Music"
sorry just read this post...
you can go this one of 2 ways, pay the agencies yourself, which is a lot of work requiring you to send them a copy of your monthly playlists which is time consuming.
or get a blanket license from a 3rd party agency.
My station is licensed through loudcity, my station is also no profit and we survive off listener donations, we dont sell any ad time, any ads we do broadcast are free and made by us.
fees are based on monthly "listener hours" and is all documented.
course this doesnt factor in the fact you need a server from which to stream from if you dont want to use up your own bandwidth "we have a 250 slot dedicated server" and that adds another monthly fee you have to pay and broadcasting software such as sam broadcaster "thats what we use" is another hit to the wallet, google all that i mentioned and you will have an idea what the costs are
so it can be quite costly, but like any other hobby, it takes cash and time.
I would love to list my station's site url here so you can check out our 24/7 broadcasts but have yet to get any response or approval from an admin from this site to do so, i dont want to step on any toes as i like cb and this site.
