now if i were to remove my swr button on the radio to put in a different one would i have to tie the wires together or you could just remove them totaly personly i think you can just get rid of them but i'm not positive?

Or, you could just remove the "button/switch" still attached, tape or heat shrink it, and lay it inside the radio like many people do with the squelch knob when installing echo boards. That way, the original wires and button/switch is still there and still hooked up if you ever want to put it back.

When I put in Dial a watt kits, I put the orginal switch inside the radio,,,tape or heat shrink to keep it from causing trouble on the boards

ok so i can just take the swr knob to cal it and put it in side the radio and soder the wires tight and shrink wrap it should i tape it down or glue it down or will it be fine just lose?

just take the knob loose,,,pull the complete knob assembly and tape it up and you'll be fine, don't recommend to unwire it or solder the wires together,,the pic below is a radio that has had an echo board put in the delta tune,,,the pld delta tune was pushed into the radio and taped up,,,not my work, I did mount the echoboard to the frame of the radio

Noooo! Don't unwire ANYTHING! Just unscrew the knob, pull it back inside the radio, and tape it up to insulate the wires. LEAVE the wires hooked to the knob!
