Probably have dirty switch contacts or a bad connection somewhere. It's it consistent or does it come and go?

usually the switch, but if you bumped, or dropped it hard, you could have busted the element wire. A bad battery is the first thing id look for.

Clean that dirty switch and the gain pot with cleaner/switch lube.

+1 on the loose wire. I've had loose wires at the plug end and once at the 9v battery connector in my Astatic 575M6B from being abused in the mobile. My RD104E Road Devil had a dirty gain control and a dirty switch right from the factory.....go figure. Astatic isn't what they used to be.

Clean the contacts with an electrical spray or WD40 or better yet get De oxit. Use the dollar bill trick or the paper bag. Lollipop D104's get very scratchy over time and the contacts need to be cleaned (80% of my locals need theirs cleaned) but some ppl are scared to open up the mic. Look it up, do alot of research, there is tons of methods. Good luck, i know you can do it.
