Any one ever use a vanco swr meter. seen one for 10$ at fry's electronics in sacramento. is it worth 10 $. I know some times you get what you pay for. Just wonderin if its any good. Also seen the radio shack swr meter for 35$ the guy at the local radio shop said its worth the money.

Never used a Vanco meter before, but honestly, one meter is just as good as another. All you're going to do anyhow is use it for your initial setup, then take it out of line, so that one should be just fine.

If you plan to run a meter inline constantly, it would be better to spend the money and get a Bird dual line section and a pair of gauges. However, unless you're running some big watts, this wouldn't really be cost effective nor practical for you to do.

thanks for the info. I dicided on the radio shack 35$ on had more option for higher watts wher the other one only had one setting. tryed it out last night 1.2 on ch 20 and 1.3 on ch 1 and 40. I guess I cant get much better than that. next project will be to get rid of the fire stick and up grade to the 10k seems to be the one to get.
