Rotators?
Well iam wanting some i can mount on the back of my semi, i kinda taking a liking to beams and the idea of directing my pwer in one direction sounds cool!
Probably a small yagi beam or something of that nature is what iam looking at, iam going to mount it in that back somewhere permantly but need to be able to drop and raise it! I would like to do a rotator cuz i dont wanna have to get out and turn in manually!
Iam totally up for whatever suggestions anyone my have!
thanks

Cool idea. :D The only bugger I can think of is the element lengths on a yagi. There would be some assembly time involved in that each time you park it. Are you thinking of mounting it on the vertical or horizontal?
I always thought it would be cool to make a beam (even a yagi) out of mobile antennas and see if I could get them to work properly. With the coiling and such, I'm not sure I have the math skills to do that...but it'd be fun to try.
I too am very partial to beams. However, if it were me, I'd probably start with basic arrangement as you have suggested using something much simpler to assemble in the field like an A99 or IMax. I didn't see where there was any weight listings...but they show a guy using a 2 meter beam...which is MUCH smaller than 11 meter. Once you have the general layout of assembly you could then add a small TV rotor if you wanted. You might need to run a couple guy wires/rope...but heck, if done correctly you could probably have it all assembled in an hour or less I would think.
Bozo has a line on a mobile beam antenna. I've never tried one, so I don't know how or if they work. I've seen guys space out Preditor 10ks which appear to be a beam as well. Once again, I'm not sure how they work though.
Neat idea and I'm sure it can be done. Like I said though, I'd be thinking more about park time vs. assembly and use time.

Horizontal so i can point it at people! Yea i know it would take awhile to assemble it all, thats why i was saying a small beam not no 8 element or anything! But like right now ive basically been sittin still for 2days(gettin paid for it thou) so i could have put it up and point it down south or south east!
why would i need coils?
thanks
