Power Supply for Base Radio?

#37467

Post by Choirboy »

The guy that tuned my 148GTL for home use set the modulation at 27 watts on AM and 35 watts on sideband (speaking, not whistling). Would a 7 amp power supply be sufficient to power this radio?

Thanks!

Yes but I's suspect a little stretch on the watts was told to you. Ive been wrong before but I smell something fishy, If I was a betting man, Id say, around 20 watts on a Bird.

yep Radioactive is right,,the older 148's had a 1969 final, when tuned right would give you 20 watts bird,,,thats all the final can do,,,newer 148's have the 2078 final, still can't get even to 20
