Skip got Better!!!

Last month I installed my antenna, an antron a99. I insulated the base of the antenna with a piece of rubber. After getting some advice from some CBRT regulars, I took down the antenna and removed the insulator and installed some makeshift radials. Today skip seemed to be better than it has been for a while. Didn't get a confirmed contact but I'll keep trying. My new Palomar 225 was really trying to get some attention. :bounce:

Skip has seemed to slow down some, at least when I get home from work. What little bit there has been, is being covered up by several local radio enthusiasts who have been fighting with each other, non-stop, for the past year and a half. :puke_r:

You can find some information about the Solar Cycle on the internet, (try http://www.spaceweather.com ) this cycle is coming to a close which is the reason skip is so sporadic, by the end of 2017 it will probably be non existent with a few meteor (space junk causes this too) scatters happening. Enjoy it while you can the next big peak won't be until 2022 to 2025 (predicted).
