What A Find!
What A Find!
My mint condition looks like it hasn't even been out of the box Motorola MT2000. Its been programmed for the 440 HAM bands and I was also able to find a new in the box still in the plastic shoulder mic for it as well! the TX & RX are great and its built like a tank! Just like the one I remembered using on the street for many a year! 73 everyone!

I think they still make that model but it's still a good find.I remember using something similar but had the marine frequencies in it.

Thanks Greg, I am considering getting a vhf one as well and have it programmed with some 2m repeaters and marine freqs. Unfortunately I talked to a local Motorola tech and he advised that they quit making the MT2000 around 1998 or so, but I have found a semi retired Motorola tech that can do the programming.

Boy, 1998, well it was a good model radio, probably the reason they stopped making them because they lasted forever. Yea, need a Motorola tech for sure, he/she will have the cloning software to program them, Motorola is very particular about that getting out to the public.
