Volume problem Connex 3400HP
Not sure if this is in the right spot so move it if necessary. Just bought a Connex 3400HP for a good deal ($50) which is less than the Astatic mic it came with is worth. Radio functions very well, about 50 watts pep. Problem is volume is very low. I've tried external speaker in both the front and rear ext speaker jacks and have checked the solder side of the board for cold joints. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron and know my way around a radio for the most part. Uses the EPT360015C board that seems common to a lot of import 10m radios but I can't find anything specific to this problem and this board on the web. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello 777OAB,
Welcome to the forum. I have looked as well for anybody having the same problem or if there was a repair bulletin out but found none. Giving that you got it so cheap it must have had this problem, probably a good realignment would bring things back to normal (yes aligning the receive section, who knows what screwdrivers have been in it). Let us know the outcome.

Thanks for the reply. I know its had the junk super swing mod done so I need to take it to a shop anyway to have that trash took out. 10 extra watts isn't worth the clipping in my opinion. BTW I'm not far from you right now. Just dropped a load at Domino Sugar in Baltimore and I'm waiting on a reload in York PA right now. 73's

Cool, I'm on the air mostly SSB, channel 38LSB, don't do AM because of affecting the neighborhood. If you ever deliver to the Parkway Crossing Shopping Center, give me a shout on that channel (AM will be okay) and I'll stop by and do the slap and grab to ya. I sent you a PM.
