DX 94HP dead-key question.
Hello everyone and I appreciate having somewhere to go to ask my many, many, questions lol! I want to turn the dead-key down on a dx94hp and was wondering exactly which pot it was again. Googled it and still reading but I figured I would come straight to this site first. My first question here and have plenty more on the way!
Thanks, 113 TN

The manual says 100w output but I'd think a little less. Remember the amp in the radio are mosfets so you need all your ducks in a row, good power source, great SWR, excellent antenna system. Here are a couple tuning locations;
VR13 is SSB ALC
VR14 is AM TX Power
VR16 is AM Modulation
3's

Having an issue with a 94 myself. Bought it used. Think it may have took a lick or two in shipping. It dk plenty high and if I have gain set at any more than 25 or 30 percent and talkback on at all it feeds back obnoxious like. Would turning down dk help that any? 10 ga wired straight to batteries and firestick2 swr about 1.4 on 20.

if you are using a stock mic and have talk back turned on you will get feed back through the mic. does it make a noise with the talk back turned off?
you may need a good noise canceling mic such as a rk56 mic.

Re: DX 94HP dead-key question.
My rk56 needs repair. I have 2 636l mics that are ok. Switch is a bit scratchy in one of them. I tried it with both the 636l's - same thing. Thinking I may order an sra-198. I also have a dx99v and a dx93t and the 99v will act similar at a little over 1/2 throttle on mic gain and the 93t has to have mic gain cranked before it gives trouble. Both are well overmodulated by that point anyway. The 94 is barely audible to others when it starts.

Re: DX 94HP dead-key question.
Thanks! I was wanting to run my D&A T-600 with it but the dead key was a little too high. Got it down to a 4 watt and seems to be doing well with my box. Thanks again! Now I need to drop the dead key on my 2970dx lol!
