Peterson Channel King 500+ Amplifier

Got a Channel King 500+ that had a blown fuse that looks to be a SFE 20amp.
Was this the correct fuse???
Would anyone have a schematic I could have for this mule?
Two 6je6's were shorted. Have recapped it and replaced the defective tubes. Just need to confirm
that fuse was correct.
I used to have one of these and it did a KW swing. Was real nice. Well made linears.

I'm not sure about that amp but a 20 amp fuse sounds a little high, if the amp is wired for 110v service the amperage shouldn't be more than 15 amps on a regular receptacle, 20 amps with the correct receptacle and plug,if it is wired for 220v would be even less. I would go with a SFE14/250vac to start. Those swing tube amplifiers mainly ran a color TV transformer (or 2) for their power supply, most would only handle 110vac.

What puzzles me is the fuse also has 32v on the other fuse cap.
The transformer is huge and very heavy. It's definitely a commercial transformer and I would bet it probably needs a 20 amp but not a 32 volt fuse???
It is a 110 volt operation and I used it on a dedicated 20 amp breaker on my last one and would still dim the lights on high fully loaded.
These amplifiers made in Springfield, MO with good tubes will swing a KW with 3 dk in. Used my Saturn with the RF out at 3 w dk.

That is confusing. The case, faceplate, and meter on a pic I saw of one looks like they were made using Heathkit parts so I would guess some of it's components inside are as well. I believe it is 2 driving 5 or 6, am I right? I bet the layout is similar to a Kenrich Eagle 500, it only uses a 15 amp fuse on it's 110v line.
You won't be able to post pics on the topic yet but when you do I would like to see some.

yea, almost every single tv sweep tube amplifier from the old days are all the same circuit design, with just a few changes here and there. just use this simple formula to figure it out. Divide the watts (not rf watts, ac draw) of the amplifier by the total number of volts available from the electric outlet to calculate amperage draw pop in a fuse then your good to go, if the fuse blows after talking, increase the fuse value in small increments until it doesn't blow, easy.

Could be that someone stuck a 20 amp fuse in it when the original blew...My Palomar 300a uses a 15 amp or 10 amp fuse...back of the amp says use a 15 amp, however the owners manual says 10 amp...When the rectifier diodes shorted out a couple months ago and blew the fuse, my tech that replaced the diodes said a 10 amp fuse should be all that was needed and that is what he put back in it...so far the 10 amp has worked just fine.
