This is a low wattage input amplifier, 4W DK on AM, 12W SSB

Start with all the switches in the position in the pic.
Turn the plate and load knobs to 12 o'clock
Turn on the Amp, (hope this is not the first time it has been on in a while, if it is let it sit and in the on position for a couple hours, hopefully it won't let the smoke out)
Turn the STBY/OPR switch to OPR
Key the radio and adjust the "Plate Tune" to max the meter, (only key for a few seconds, let it sit for about a minute)
Repeat step above but with the "Ant. Load" (let it sit again)
The above steps may need to be repeated several time until the meter max's out, then adjust the "Plate Load" back a tad

After this the amp should be ready to go, no farther tuning should be needed through the band you are on. They were a good amp, don't overdrive it, tubes for it are expensive.

Does your amp have a driver adjustment on the back?

I don't have one, just added the pic so we were on the right page. If there is a driver adjustment on the back that would be to balance the impedance between the radio and amp. Do this adjustment with the amp on STBY and have a good SWR meter after the amp. I usually do my initial setup of an amp into a dummy load instead of a antenna.
