Alignment question
If I get a radio that has been aligned on the 10/12 meter and I convert it to 11 meter does it affect the alignment?

Re: Alignment question
Depends on the radio, which one are you thinking about?acethunder wrote: June 30th, 2019, 2:03 pm If I get a radio that has been aligned on the 10/12 meter and I convert it to 11 meter does it affect the alignment?

Re: Alignment question
I’ve been looking at the Stryker 955. Some places that sell them say they did or will do an alignment on the 10/12 but if it doesn’t help then I can look for a new unopened one

Re: Alignment question
I think you are confusing a shop's famous "Peak & Tune" with an alignment. The 955 has a pretty broad banded receive and transmit circuits, after the mod there is really no need for an alignment. That is up to you to decide but if you are comfortable in doing the frequency mod yourself, by all means go ahead and do it,, only drawback is if you open the case than the warranty is voided.

Re: Alignment question
It’s basically the “shop tech” turning up the dials inside to make the watt meter dance

Re: Alignment question
I don’t want a tune and peak. I just want a good stock radio with decent receive and transmit. If I don’t need to do an alignment then all the betterMDYoungblood wrote: July 1st, 2019, 11:28 am I think you are confusing a shop's famous "Peak & Tune" with an alignment. Re: Alignment question
You got it! Anyone can open a radio and turn up potentiometers but a real tech has the equipment and knowledge to align a radio.acethunder wrote: July 1st, 2019, 4:36 pm It’s basically the “shop tech” turning up the dials inside to make the watt meter dance
