Mic Wiring Issue?

Took my General Lee stock mic and swapped it out with my Astatic 636L that I was using on my old Cobra.. My problem is the stock General mic I put on the Cobra is asting like I have talk back switched on.. but the radio doesn't have it? Is this just a wiring issue? If so I will do some research and find a good wiring diagram before busting it open..
