New website look.

I like it a lot, seems easier to navigate. I visit a few times a month, I'm a newb with CB's. I just listen to the local truck stop and listen for traffic. I have a PNY 62 handheld that puts out 8 watts, fm mode, 5 other frequency bands. Old radio shack handheld that's 5 watts and has the scan feature, think it's TRC 241 model. Next I might be in for a SSB rig. Maybe the Anytone Ares rig. Just for fun/hobby.

OldSoul I think you will have a bunch of fun with an SSB rig. I would say get one with a frequency counter in it. Have it tuned and clarifier open or unlocked for sure. Its not cheap but its not a million dollars either !
It is big fun.

OldSoul....You will have a blast on SSB and it doesn't take much power when Mother Nature does all the work. My preference is SSB and I do talk to a lot of mobiles when the band conditions are just right. You may even hear stations out of the country too especially South America in the late afternoon and early evening not to mention other countries too depending on the time of day.
